From September 8 to 11, 2019, the conference “Mensch und Computer 2009” took place in Hamburg under the motto “New Digital Realities”. The scientific conference Mensch-Computer-Interaction (MCI) and the practical conference UP – Usability Professionals are combined under the umbrella of the conference. Within the scope of lectures, workshops, tutorials, exhibitions and demonstrations there were various opportunities to present the current state of research and to discuss with like-minded people from research and practice. In total, almost 1,000 participants from science and industry attended the conference. The program included 3 keynotes, 38 full papers, 10 Invited Talks of excellent ACM CHI papers, 78 short papers and posters, 28 workshops, 8 tutorials and 3 CPUX certification exams.

Margarita Grinko, Marc-André Kaufhold and Thea Riebe, three research assistants and the leading mentor Prof. Dr. Christian Reuter from KontiKat were present at the conference. In addition to participating in the implementation and the proceedings of the “6th Workshop Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion in sicherheitskritischen Systemen“, the junior research group published a full paper and two workshop contributions, in which Amanda Langer and Fabienne Seifert were also involved:
